Glass collection, COLBALT BLUE tumblers and GREEN ball jars.

I have always loved colored glass. I got rid of all my cheap plastic glasses about 10 years ago and now I'm looking for these lovely colbalt blue tumblers. I have a set of 6 juice glasses that my father-in-law found at a garage sale. I also have a set of 6 tumblers that I found at an antique store a few weeks ago. But now I'm looking for the middle size that goes with the set. We went antiqueing yesterday and I found them in EVERY color but COLBALT BLUE! If you ever get to Byron Georgia stop at The Peach. But make sure you have a WHOLE day to spend there. Yes, It's THAT big.

When we moved here, I was going to do some decorating but got sidetracked with breast cancer. Now that things are getting back to normal I have decided to do some decorationg. I'm not a 'fad' decorator I like the country look. I like antiques and old furniture. I blame it on my parents. :-) They drug me to yard sales and garage sales and auctions, we went to thrift stores and the Goodwill often. I can even remember getting my own number at the auction and being allowed to bid on stuff when I was younger. It was fun, like a contest. I have a shelf in my kitchen and I though the different colored ball jars would really look good up there so I have started collecting ball jars. I need some green ones though. I have one green and it's so pale you can't even tell it's green.  But this is what it looks like....

So if you run across some colbalt blue tumblers or green ball jars let me know.

I found this mirrir out in the barn. I don't know where it came from or why it was in there. I just couldn't throw it away. So....I painted it, glazed it with some brown glaze then painted the mirror with chalkboard paint.

Putting Breast Cancer Behind Me...

I got my port out yesterday!! My last mamo looked good, my blood work is good, and I am through with all my treatments except for having to take tamoxfin for the next 5 years. The last thing I had to do was get the port removed and we did that yesterday. Now, if I can just make it through the next five years. My cancer was stage 2 and had spread to the lymph nodes so It could rear it's ugly little head somewhere else. However, I'm not going to worry about it. I have better things to do so, as of today, I am putting it behind me and moving forward.

I need more storage at my house so I bought this today at Lowes so I can store blankets in the summer and beach towels and summer stuff in the winter. It will go beside my bed so the grands won't be tempted to climb on it.

Now, if I can just find a table skit that will fit. I looked everywhere today and couldn't find anything I thought would work. The one I have on it is just way to short. I might have to make one.

Expo 2009

We had a great day out at the Expo today. It started off cool but quickly warmed up and it turned out to be a beautiful day! The kids loved the tractors and as you can tell, Mr. Landon was one happy little boy while he was climbing around in that Big ol'e John Deere tractor.

Their favorite animal at the Expo was the alpacas. They are so CUTE! As you can see the kids just loved watching them.
If I had a farm I think I would just have to have a few of these wondering around. :-)

More Pictures from the melon patch this one is of my youngest daughter Kayla and her son Landon. Then below is another one of Riley.

Then we have my oldest grandson Garrett and the whole bunch minus two below. Amanda and Baylee had to leave early is was a cold day and she wasn't feeling good.

This is one of Baylee's behind with a sunflower in her back pocket.

We went to Mark's melon patch over in Sasser this weekend and had a great time. This one is of Baylee.

The sunflowers were beautiful as always.

This is my middle daughter Leslie and her daughter Riley.

This is Landon on one of the tractor they had out there. He would have spent the whole day right here if we would have let him. He DOES love a tractor!

Here he is again on that tractor. He DID NOT want to get off!
