Carving a pumpkin with Garrett

Garrett carved a pumpkin today. First we had to punch our design in the pumpkin.



This is what it looked like.




Then his dad cut the top off so we could scoop out the inside.



You want me to get that stuff out with my HANDS!




Are you sure there isn't another way to do this???



This is a messy job! And it's GROSS!



Maybe I'll just let daddy do this part.

Now the fun part. But it's harder that it looks.

Going Hunting

Everyone was up early this morning. Kevin and Garrett are headed out to the woods for some deer hunting. They took the dirt bikes with them so I'm not sure how much hunting will get done. Hummm...that reminds me, if any of you talk to Kevin you have GOT to ask him about his latest deer hunting story with Garrett. It will have you rolling on the floor laughing.



It's a little cool in the mornings here in South Georgia. I know, I know...the low 70's high 60's isn't cool to ya'll in the north but for us it's cool. Notice I didn't say COLD. :-)



Uncle Kembin (Kevin) can't come over without a visit from Riley. She loves her uncle Kembin and her cousin Garrett. She runs after him and follows him everywhere he goes and when Uncle Kembin and Garrett leaves, Oh My! she will stand at the door and cry for a good 10 minutes.



But it's okay, Garrett loves his little cousin and he does his best to take care of her and he doesn't mind when she runs around after him.



And it won't be long before this one is chasing after both of them.

Landon's Pumpkin Pictures

These were also taken Sunday. Ryan brought us some huge pumpkins. They sure did make great props for Landon's pictures. :-) Riley wasn't interested in the pumpkins. But she did let me take some pictures. Some times, I have to give her money to put in my jar. One day she's going to figure than one out but for now, it works. She has more fun chasing Fred and Ginger. Fred let her catch him. When she calls him she says, "Here killy, killy." He just lets here drag him all over the place.

Riley and Landon

This picture was taken Sunday. Ryan brought some pumpkins to the house so we were trying to get a backdrop ready so I could take some pictures of Landon. I got some good ones of Riley too. Kayla and Ryan spent the afternoon cutting and carving pumpkins. I'll post some pictures of the pumpkins later.

Grandchildren

LOL! Aren't they adorable? Grand children are SO MUCH FUN!! The first picture is one of Landon playing on the floor at the house. He still hasn't figured out how to get up on his knees but he's trying. The next one is of Riley and Baylee playing on Gigi and Poppa's bed. We have Riley this weekend because her daddy has gone back to Iraq and her mother had her tonsils out on Friday. I slept with her last night but I think I'm going to let Poppa sleep with her tonight. She's a rough bedfellow!

Landon

Here is another picture of Landon Aubrey. He is almost 8 months old. I think he'll be crawling soon. He still hasn't figured out how to get his knees under him but...who needs knees when you have 6 adults at your beck and call??? :-)

Terry and Dakota

Today was a sad day. Terry had to leave this morning. He is on his way back to Iraq after a 18 day leave that just flew by and it is also Dakota's birthday today. She would have been two years old today. Amanda and Lee had a balloon release at the cemetery this afternoon.I only have a few picture to share...The first one is of Terry, Leslie and Riley. The next one is a picture of Dakota's grave. The next one is a picture of Amanda and Baylee, Dakota's little sister. Then there is Kayla and Landon and Kevin with Riley. She LOVES her Uncle kembin. :-)

Georgia Snow

This is a patch of cotton that is located less than a half mile from the house. When you ride by, it reminds me of the fields of snow up in Upstate New York where we use to live in Wyoming. Here the temp was a nice cool 85 degrees. This field will be picked soon so I have to be quick if I want to take any pictures.
